The Importance of Organization and Innovation To Successfully Build A Climbing Gym In a Small Space

Challenge

The TYTO team was tasked with constructing a very tall structure in the interior of a small space. The construction equipment they were bringing onto the jobsite did not go as high as required climbing wall height. Two construction crews were required due to a tight project timeline.

Solution

Since the TYTO owners were rock climbers themselves, they understood that a rock-climbing wall is classified as an anomaly in the construction world – essentially a matrix frame behind the wall. Working with the engineers, the TYTO team advised on specific textures and angles for the wall. The TYTO team had to be very organized to be functional on the job site with the tremendous material deliveries and two crews. Collaborating with the engineers, the team produced a cost-effective solution to tilt up the building.

Result

The TYTO team delivered a high-quality climbing gym that at the time, was the largest climbing gym in Canada. TYTO continues to work with the engineers from this project and are proud that over the years, only minor wear and tear maintenance was required for this thriving, successful business.

We enjoy working with the TYTO team as they are reliable, detail-oriented, and set a high standard for this industry.
